Rental FAQ's

Prices vary by need of the theatre and lobby. For an event day – single performance, it costs $1800 and is $900 more per additional event day. For lobby events, a single day costs $750 and is $700 per additional event day. To see a breakdown of cost per day, please visit this link.

The Madison is proud to host four spaces available to rent! Clients are able to rent the lobby (which includes the veranda), the theatre, the studio, and our conference room.

The theatre itself holds 904 occupants, and the lobby holds 500.

The Madison Center for the Arts offers a variety of snacks and beverages at our concessions and bar are open through intermission, including candy, chips, popcorn, bottled water, soda, and more. Cash and cards are accepted. All concession purchases are allowed in the theatre.

All concession purchases are allowed in the theatre. All other food and beverages (like during a meal or special event) are allowed in the theatre on a per show basis.

Outside food and drink are not allowed in the building.

Yes, please let us know in our rental form if your event include the distribution or sales of alcohol.

All proceeds benefit the Madison Education Foundation.

Yes! Dates are allowed to be held for 7 days. If a decision is not made or the 50% deposit fee is not paid in those 7 days, the date will be forfeited.

A deposit of 50% of the total rental balance is due upon execution of agreement. With the other 50% due one week prior to the event.

Absolutely! With an outdoor veranda, large lobby, and 900 seat theater, The Madison can host your guests either through a more intimate experience with 50 guests or less or a larger space for up to 250 guests. For more information about The Madison’s wedding packages, click here.

If you need to cancel your event, we will work with you to reschedule if necessary. If it’s an outright cancellation, you will lose your deposit.

Performances involving fire or glitter are not allowed. Performances involving glitter will invoke a $X fee.

Photo and video policy is up to the renter. We’d be more than happy to accommodate your choice

Yes, preferred vendors can be provided upon request.

Yes, production labor is provided on an as-needed basis. All stage shows require at least two stagehands, one light board operator, and one sound board operator. Details will be discussed during the production meeting.

The responsibility of renting additional equipment needed for events is solely on the renter. If you need us to rent the additional equipment for the event, that charge will be added to the total rental balance.

Day of show details will be discussed no later than two months out from the event date.

Food is allowed in all areas backstage (dressing rooms, studio, back hallway, etc.) except for side stage. Water is permitted in all areas.

Renters may use the ticketing site of their choosing. However, using The Madison’s ticketing site will incur a $xx fee. All events at The Madison will be featured on our website’s events page unless stated otherwise.

Yes! Merchandise sales are allowed at your event. We will discuss details such as fees and where you’ll set up during the production meeting. 

We’d be more than happy to help market your event for an additional fee. Additional marketing on our end includes featuring your event on our home page, marquee, and lobby screens, two social media posts, and an email to our 10,000 patron mailing list. Details will be discussed during initial inquiry.

Yes, events (when needed) require a house manager, and at least two ushers, of which we will provide.

Yes, you may use your own volunteers as staffing. However, we do require our own staff minimum when the event calls for it.

We provide free parking in our self-serve parking garage located south of the theatre. The parking garage has 375 spaces available, 10 of which are ADA Accessible, with 4 levels.
